LET'S TALK ABOUT SEX

The debate currently ongoing in the House of the Representatives is not anymore the Republic's budget (which was signed yesterday, March 15, in the Palace)but the Responsible Parenthood and Population Management Act of 2005 (or House Bill No. 3773). Once again, we see the seemingly interminable and monumental showdown between State and Church, specifically the Catholic Church. Makes one wonder how the other faiths look at the proposed bill. Surely, they must have something to say about it too. But more than faith, House Bill No. 3773 is all about health - women's health, to be specific. Add to this education in schools and of that of the layman.

Many groups say there really is not fear of population boom as said in this article and makes use of Japan and China as best examples of the direction we all are heading towards. Interesting time at the debates, with this topic hounding the Philippine scene for decades! About time we finally settle it, too.
